Borrow Credit on Loan

Do you have insufficient funds in your balance but you really need to connect with a loved one or get online? You can borrow credit on loan to make calls, send SMS and buy plans. A total deduction of the Borrowed Amount plus a K0.20 Borrowing Fee will be done upon the next TopUp or credit transfer until the amount is paid off.

How can I qualify for borrowing credit on loan?

  1. Your number needs to be a registered Prepaid Vodafone voice number.
  2. Your number needs to have been active on the network for a minimum of 3 months.
  3. At least one mandatory TopUp of minimum K5 or more must be done once a month.
  4. Real Credit balance must be less than K0.20.
  5. Any outstanding credit on loan balance must be cleared.

How can I Borrow Credit?

Option 1 – USSD Shortcode *151#

  1. Dial *151#.
  2. Enter option 1 to select “Borrow K3 Credit”.
  3. After reading the confirmation prompt, Enter 1 to Select Yes to complete the borrowing process and to agree that you will be borrowing K3 Loaned Credit and that a total deduction of the K3 plus a K0.20 Borrowing Fee will be done upon your next TopUp or credit transfer until the amount is paid off.
  4. An SMS message will be sent to confirm that the Loaned Credit has been successfully loaded. You may dial *120# to check balance.

Option 2 - MyVodafone App

  1. Download the MyVodafone App from Google Play Store, iPhone App Store or Huawei App Gallery in your smartphone.
  2. Log in by registering your mobile number in the MyVodafone App. (Note: The OTP Verification Code message will be sent to your SMS inbox.)
  3. Tap on “Borrow Credit”. The active mobile account will be displayed.
  4. Select “I Agree with the Terms and Conditions” to agree that you will be borrowing the said Kina amount and that a total deduction of the Borrowed Amount plus a K0.20 Borrowing Fee will be done upon your next TopUp or credit transfer until the amount is paid off.
  5. Tap on “Borrow Credit”
  6. Tap on "Confirm" to complete the borrow process.
  7. An SMS message will be sent to confirm that the Loaned Credit has been successfully loaded. Go to the home  () page or dial *120# to check balance.

How can I check my Outstanding Loan Balance?

  1. Dial *151#.
  2. If you have not cleared the loan, a USSD prompt will advise you on how much loan is outstanding.
  3. If you have an outstanding balance, you may TopUp to clear your loan and make yourself eligible for borrowing a new loan.

Borrow Credit Terms and Conditions

  1. Credit on Loan Service is only available to Prepaid customers only.
  2. K3 Loaned Credit is set to expire in 30 days from the time borrowed.
  3. To borrow credit on loan, dial *151# and select option 1.
  4. To check your Outstanding Loan Balance, dial *151#. If you have not cleared the loan, a USSD prompt will advise you on how much the loan is outstanding.
  5. A total of K3.20 will be deducted to pay off your Loan after you TopUp or if someone shares credit with you.
  6. To qualify for Loan, your number needs to be registered, your number needs to have been active on the network for a minimum of 3 months, your number needs to have had at least one mandatory TopUp of minimum K5 or more done in the past month, your Real Credit balance must be less than 20 toea, and any outstanding credit on the loan balance must be cleared.
  7. To be eligible to borrow again, you will have to TopUp to clear your loan balance of K3.20.
  8. Credit on Loan is a promotional offer and the promotion end date will be communicated via SMS broadcast.
  9. Dial *444# or use the MyVodafone App to access Vodafone Prepaid Services.
